About Us

No better way than taking our learners to vast farms to play, eat, farm and connect.

Our story

How did Mish Madrasa Come about?

Learn more
Amidst the streets of Saft El-Laban, our youth brim with happiness after a soccer match.

Our Belief

Youth are an integral part of creating social change, yet their voices are often unheard and undervalued. By harnessing the passions and talents of young people in local communities, we are tackling systemic issues that plague underserved communities in the greater Cairo area.

In a classroom, we gather in a circle, our gazes meeting, where equality reigns among us all.

The Problem

There exists a disparity between education and the actual realities that young individuals experience.

Girls hold the future, and Asmaa's smile assures us of a luminous tomorrow.

The solution

Our model puts youth in charge of their own learning and development. By implementing community projects, our young innovators are not only leading the charge in shaping the future, but they are taking ownership of their learning. In carrying out their own projects, they gain valuable skills such as teamwork and leadership, along with the hard skills in content areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and science. The result is a generation of young people that are critically conscious of the world around them.

Always in a circle, always connecting, always together.

Our Approach

Schooling frequently lags behind in adapting to our ever-changing world. However, Mish Madrasa endeavors to transcend traditional paradigms of schooling by tackling individual and societal challenges head-on. We achieve this by engaging with our youth’s unique stories and life experiences, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing the skills needed to tackle challenges both personally and collectively.

That moment makes me wonder, how often do I experience pure happiness?

The How

Utilizing Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Positive Youth Development (PYA) strategies, we take a problem solving approach to solving local issues through community projects. By designing and implementing these projects, our youth gain the valuable skills they need to deal with their realities.
